Sanyal Appointed as Miller College Dean
Ball State University has appointed Rajib Sanyal, an expert in industrial and labor relations, as dean of the Miller College of Business. Sanyal, who has been the business college dean at Northern Michigan University in Marquette since 2005, will join Ball State on June 1. He was selected after a national search which brought three candidates to campus for interviews.
"Dr. Sanyal brings with him solid administrative skills and unique national and international business experience," said Ball State Provost Terry King. "We believe he is the right person to join our team to assist the university in meeting the goals of its strategic plan. We look forward to his initiatives." Read more.

Note from the Dean's Office
Greetings! It is getting to be late January and we are beginning the third week of the semester. It has been very wintery in Muncie, so our thoughts of spring break are emerging way too early. I hope you had a wonderful new year. I sat with a sizeable contingent of Ball State alumni in Mobile, Ala., earlier this year for the GMAC Bowl. The game was ultimately played in a driving rain storm. In the end, our Cardinals suffered a loss to the University of Tulsa - aptly named "The Golden Hurricane" - but don't worry, the outcome of the game did not put a damper on a season to be remembered!
Our good news is the appointment of Dr. Raj Sanyal as our new dean. Raj is scheduled to start June 1. Interestingly, I nominated Raj for the job. I know him as a very thoughtful and caring person, an experienced dean, and I believe he will be an excellent leader for the Miller College.
Until next month, GO CARDS!
