In the last month the excitement has been almost palpable as we completed another academic year! It all culminated Saturday,
May 5, with spring commencement at which about 230 Miller College of Business (MCOB) students received their diplomas . Dave Heeter,
CEO of Mutual Federal Savings Bank and president of the MCOB Alumni Board of Directors, gave the address for the college and challenged the graduates
to lead extraordinary lives. We wish all of our new alumni happiness and success in their professional and personal lives!
Ethics Week features campus events
The Miller College of Business coordinated Ethics Week on the Ball State campus the week of April 18, with 21 events hosted by
Ball State’s seven academic colleges. We hosted four, and our big event was a presentation by Cynthia Cooper, the person who uncovered
the fraud at WorldCom and one of Time magazine’s 2002 Persons of the Year. More than 750 students and others were captivated by her remarks.
Plans are already underway for Ethics Week 2008!
Focus on entrepreneurship
Soon you should be receiving your spring issue of Ball State Business magazine, which features our nationally recognized entrepreneurship
program, students, and alumni. On May 1, seniors in the program’s capstone New Venture Creation course presented their business plans to business
leaders in Indianapolis. Of the 31 who began the course in January, 22 passed the course and graduated May 5.
Make a difference—make a gift!
We would love to count you among our donors to the Miller College of Business this year! You can make a difference by making your gift to our unrestricted
1201 fund or to any of your favorite programs or scholarships. Remember that this fiscal year ends June 30. Contact Carl Davis or me if
you have questions about where to direct your gift. You may make your gift online at www.bsu.edu/giving.
As always, we’d love to hear from you. Let us know of your successes! Best wishes for a wonderful summer!
